Course Outline:

Rehearsals:
Rehearsals are every Day 1 at 8:45. Please be on time for warm up to get your voice ready for class. Participation is a large part of your grade. It is an expectation that you will sing in this class. Phones will be put in the phone caddy at the beginning of class each day. You will not be allowed to keep your phone in your backpack or pocket, or remove your phone from the caddy when you go to the washroom during class time. Please come to rehearsal with all of your supplies (music, pencil, water, etc.) so we can have as efficient rehearsals to get ready for our many performances this year.

Lessons:
Each student will have a sectional once a week that is scheduled at the beginning of each semester. Singing assessments will occasionally take place during these lessons. Lessons are a mandatory part of choir, if you do not attend lessons, it will greatly affect your grade.

Assignments:
Written work this year will consist mainly of reflections for concerts and rehearsals, and some small written assignments involving music theory and music history. Reflections will be done throughout the year and after concerts.

Concerts:
Concert attendance is mandatory. If you have a reasonable conflict and cannot make it to the concert, please let me know as soon as possible so we can work out a make-up assignment for you to do. I decide if the conflict is reasonable. If you are sick the day of a concert, please have your parent or guardian call the school and email me so I know that you will be unable to participate in the concert due to illness. If you miss a concert without a reasonable conflict or illness, you will receive a 0 for that concert assessment.
